The renovation and expansion of the former Avalon Inn is part of a visionary plan to create a destination resort facility in northeast Ohio. Centrally located between Pittsburgh and Cleveland, the project includes the upgrade of the entire hotel, while expanding and improving various amenities within the complex. The new Avalon Spa and Resort has been designed to restore the elegance of one of northeast Ohio’s best known inns, while developing new spaces and facilities to serve the needs of both vacationing families and corporate planners.
Recently purchased by Avalon Holdings, the renovation and expansion has allowed the complex, along with the adjacent Avalon Lakes Country Club, to become the premier facility within their family of golf and recreational facilities. Focusing on guest and member comfort, the facility has been designed to provide exceptional meeting, dining and recreation venues. Phillips|Sekanick Architects has worked with the owner to redesign every part of the facility. This three phase project includes the renovation of all guest rooms, kitchen and banquet facility upgrades, the addition of a new dining area and meeting rooms, the expansion of the fitness facilities as well as significant improvements to the buildings public spaces. The renovation also included the complete renovation of the buildings enclosed pool and locker facilities.
Proposed improvements for the resort include the addition of a Roman bath, a new outdoor family pool, an enlarged lounge and dining area and the creation of a dedicated spa and treatment facility. This redesign has created a unique environment geared toward providing a quality meeting and recreation facility close to home.
